The Nuclear game the way i predict

July 2, 2008 · Leave a Comment

The nuclear deal has become the Achilles  heal of the UPA governmet for the  past two years now.I am no nostradamus but common sense shows how things will move.I believe the Left will withdraw support in a day or two and the SP will support the government in case of a floor test.The BJP will just create chaos or pandemonium and will try to take some communal advantage out of it.The majority in the news media will accuse the left of being patriotic to China(All u old folks remember peking patriots during the Indo-china war ).The regional parties will be busy promoting their wards for the next generation,i heard kanimozhi’s ward is being trained for some youth organisation post.I honestly at times believe karunanidhi follows the varna system in power sharing.Periyar would be happy to see the developments leave it thats for another post.

So the government would be safe for now and the Nuclear deal is the panacea for our woes as Bush believes in nuclear weapon :D .

Now i wish to ask some questions just for history and record i dont expect any answers to it.

1)Why is the PM so obsessed with the word given to the US president yet he does not mind about the left sensibilities back home?.Look this government was a coalition arrangement on the basis of a common minimum programme.So u give a word you try to stick to it,at least people in responsible positions should abide by this thumb rule.

2)The nation is in a fix with growing inflation,price rise has manifested in misery to most of Indian workforce who earn less than 20 per day.Now how much the nuclear deal is a life and death problem for these people who are more dependent on the government.

3)The United States has been trying to put India against China,and make India as its strategic  partner.Now what we need now is a multipolar order  based on the egalitarian principles of freedom and equality.Is the UPA government sacrificing an independent foreign policy for the sake of this nuclear deal?US has killed 1 million innocent civillians in Iraq and had filled the lives of millions with despair in Iraq.Are we going to taste blood for the bones thrown by US?

Dasavatharam

Kamal’s Magnum opus dasavataram had a world wide release on thirteenth the day i was awarded with the provisional degree certificate.So we guys decided to go to dasa night show.I was awe struck by the technical superiority of the movie.Havent seen any movie taken with such pain,hardwork in Indian cinema history.Kamal has proved once again the genius in him.The film has multiple interpretations some may call it destiny,gods design of events,or may be chaos theory or butterfly effect.

The story is based on the events in the lifes of ten characters played by kamal himself which are interwined and entangled leading to an astonishing set of events based on the chaos model.

Positives:

Amazing acting by kamal,computer graphics is used in a manour so realistic unlike other indian movies,the linear breathtaking screenplay,explaing complex ideas yet no advices like shankar does.Kamal is a mass hero who has a fan following catering to various audiences and this movie is an entertainer catering to all type of audiences.

So i believe to criticise the movie just to prove a point and undermine the stupendous hard work of this legend.He is an inspiration for all youngster’s,the dedication at this age is fantastic and everyone needs to take a feather out of kamal’s life.

My Favourite Avatar :

12 the century Nambi: Brave,daring,the eyes,the dialogue delivery

Fletcher:Wow what a stylish performance

Vincent Poovaraghavan:The Nellai accent never been delivered with such perfection.

My favourite Dialogues:

Govind:You are the south side of the north side facing horse!

Fletcher to  japanesse kamal:Remember Hiroshima

Japanesse Kamal:Remember Pearl Harbour

Bush kamal:Can we drop an atome bomb on this bio-weapon?Whats that NACL

Call Manmohan Sink! :D

Kabilan to vicent:ஒரு பானை சொத்துக்கு ஒரு சொர் பதம்

Vincent:பானை கொஞ்சம் பேரிய பானை

On the whole the movie is great hope it runs well looking forward to kamal’s next venture Marmayogi and he looks great in that beard.

An awesome book by Kalki that was published initially in the kalki periodical.I had a chance to read this 2400 epic about the Chola kingdom.I was spellbound just could not keep the book down.Even the great George Orwell’s sattire didnt keep me tied down as Kalki did.I was honestly amazed about kalki’s narration,the simple yet serene beauty of characaterisation.The story revolves around Vandhiyathevan the hero of the story through which we are introduced to other characters.Kalki just brings the beauty of women characters to the readers imagination.We get spellbound by the beauty of early tamil nadu.You know one thing i hail from srirangam actually srirangam is an island which has cauvery in one side and kollidam in the south.Srirangam is a vaisnavite holy land having lord renganatha blessing his disciples.I got fascinated by the shivite-vaisnavite debates in the book especially Azhvarkadiyannambi fighting it out with the shivites.

Honestly i fell literally in love with most of princesses in the book be it kundhavai,Vanadhi or Poonguzhali i miss them as if they are my girl friends these days ;) .

Kundhavai- Amazing lady brilliant,creative,erudite and what not.The way she handles the dangers to the chola kingdom.I got moved by the way the she fells in love with vandhiyadevan wow what romance it just increased my belief in the wonderfull feeling of love.

Vanadhi:Innocent,loving,caring and the way she loves arulmozhi i got envy on arulmozhi.

Poonguzhali:Brave,daring,innovative,adventurous.I thought of going to kollidam and look for some girl on a boat he he he.

Vandhiyathevan and arulmozhi varman’s friendship is comparable to fidel-che or marx-engel friendship.Vandhiya tricky,lovable,brave intelligent the way he gets into trouble and comes out of it is really interesting.Arulmozhi’s honestly,loyality,the way he respects kundhavai and vandhiyathevan is amazing and enjoyable a read.He  is being loved by the entire chola kingdom.

This book has literally hijacked me of all senses.I believe anyone knowing tamil should have a try at this epic story it has history,love,friendship and what not to savour.Awesome book ;)

Makkal TV s commendable Effort

May 2, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I was very much interested in the concept promoted by makkal tv.It was meant to break the stereotype associated with TV programs.It was launched sans ant filmy programs or mega serials and it has got cult following these days.Now makkal TV has started showing Russian films of late.I was thinking long back why these movie channels dont air quality international movies.Now makkal TV has come up with the idea of telecasting Russian movies every second sundays.Yesterday they aired the movie “The Ballad of a soldier” it is the movie of a russian soldier returning from war to visit his mother.The highlight was that Makkal TV aired the movie with tamil subtitles and every half an hour there was a host explaining the story and other features associated with the movie.It is a commendable effort and i sincerely hope that it continues to show good quality international movies :) .

Life of late a mixture of emotions- Mar 2,ThunderKnights,Ooty IV et al

March 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Its been long time i have blogged and had quite a few important events that happened in this period.First and foremost I turned 22 this march and i am hating to get aged more of all the responsibility that people remaind me.It was all fun this birthday as we also had Thunderknights the flood lights cricket tounament organised in the hostel.

I remember cricket way back in life started playing it at the age of four and played for more than fourteen years like anyother mad indian passionate,zealous,hyper-excited and what not.I lost much of the lull for cricket when i entered college but this flood light tournament kindled some old passions.

Galatta Gangsters:

We friends played as a team galatta gangsters we reached the semis and lost out to eventual winners rocking rogues :D .I opened in most matches and got man of the match for my thirty odd runs and this all fell on my birthday and was really happy.

Ooty IV:

Just as we finished thunder knights the same night March 2 we started to a tour to Ooty and coimbatore.We had a lot of fun with all our department mates took a lot os snapes in others camera especially some natural sceneraies.I have gut preference of avoiding photos and better of behind the lens :D .

One of my friend Alagammai got me some cool gifts for my birthday and asked me “hey did you get anything” me:”Errr”(Scratching my head as always) she probably guessed it already and was not much disappointed anyways i am insane robot at times need to change a lot.

Especially when it comes to this gifts,purchases i am clueless.

The final incident was the highlight of the day when we were in train returning to madurai

i just went to the toilet to change my pants and the music player slipped of my pant and fell in the track gush what stupidity.

The player was bothering me a bit especially i wish to live a low-key less-fancy life bit phobiac about electronic goods so its a relief in one sense but yet my dad is in great anger :P .

Fossconf 08 @ MIT chrompet — “man i loved electric trains”

February 10, 2008 · 2 Comments

Hey guys in the first week of February ILUGC(indian linux users group chennai) and NRCFOSS organised a conference on Free and open source software at MIT chrompet.It was a great event we were part of the TCE team as volunteers.From our set me,vins and bala attended the conference it was outright fun all the way.We were accompanied by our juniors who won a prize for best stall congrats to everyone.

We ourself put up stall on “GNU/Linux Networking” and were speaking about DNS server,proxy server and blah-blah but many viewers were novice and first time and we modified the stall as GNU/Linux basics and bored every one on why GNU? whats GNU? and stuff like that.The part i loved was we stayed in my aunts house in T.Nagar every day we used the electric train to reach to chrompet man i loved it i had a fuzzy doubt why so many people use roads in chennai!?.

We attended sessions on Django ,PHP attacks and defences, Parallel programming and introduction to ruby.There was a crpto challenge question was put up in FOSSconf i was not able to mail the results yet came up with a clumsy solution for a question.People please comment on it.

Question:In RSA given the value of n the product of two prime numbers and phi(n) the euler totien value find the value of p&q.

Algorithm:

1)First check whether ‘n’ is even if so return p as 2 and q as n/2 as any even number which is a product of two prime numbers should be 2 and n/2.

2)Else find n-phi(n)-1 this value would be an even number say n is 35 and phi(n) is 24 that is 24 values are relatively prime to 35 the remaining values are 1 and the multiple of 5 and 7 in this case that is p and q.Now u have q-1 multiples of p and p-1 multiples of q which are not relatively prime to n i.e in this case 6 multiples of 4 and 4 multiples of 6.so the value 10=6+4.

3)Now take the value n-phi(n)-1 in this case 10 express it as a sum of two even numbers such that the product of the two numbers is phi(n) add one to the values to obtain p and q.

4)I will post the python implementation soon and hope u would know how bad i code.

Brian Behlendorf the founder of apache foundation was the chief guest for the closing day cermony.He spoke about how open source software is changing the society and he gave real life examples of the impact of open source software.

Saluting Bilkis Bano

January 27, 2008 · 2 Comments

At times when you feel so proud of yourself you get lost in an aura of self praise blinded like an ostrich in a blissful oblivion time and again you hear of great people reminded of great deeds which shatters all myth.The extraordinary valor,courage and zeal of perceverence showed by Bilkis Bano a victim of the gory Gujarat riots seven years ago is truly inspirational.She with six other women were gang raped by a mob of fascist morons,Bilkis was pregnant at the time(cruel shit!) her 3 year old children was smashed in head and killed brutally.Bilkis after recovering from the incident went to a near by police station to register a complaint and she was foxed because of her ignorance.Thanks to the supreme court the investigation was moved to Mumbai this was all after the “modern day Neros” were waging a lost battle in saving the perpetrators of the carnage unleashed upon the innocent Muslims.The postmortem was shabby,heads were cut to prevent identification,chilly powders were thrown upon the body’s etc.After all the struggle 11 of the 14 have been sentenced to life thanks to the effort of Bilkis Bano.

For those who like me who had thought whether progressive thought has taken a beating in Gujarat this is a hope at the end of the tunnel.Ordinary people of Gujarat don’t even feel a sense of remorse for what they have done. Lets hope there is a future for secularism in Gujarat.

Tecuthsav web design Jquery et al

January 19, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Thiagarajar college of engineering is organising a tech festival named Tecuthsav from february 13 to february 17. I was part of the web designing teamin developing the website for tecuthsav.Especially the CSS and the UI design part which i worked with.It was really a fruitfull experience as i tried Jquery for the first time.Jquery is a javascript library released under GPL.It love in first sight for me with Jquery.I hate Java,javascript basically because i dont understand it coz of its clumsy syntax and stuff and due to python.Now what if javascript is as enjoyable as python, is thats what you feel when you use Jquery.
Check this
$(“#foobar”).click(function(){
$(“div”).css(“background”,”red”);
});
Now the above code snippet means on clicking the div.#foobar the background of all divs is changed to red.Now there is a variety of stuffs you can with jquery check here.Now i used Jquery in the menu of events visible in the site.I have given all the event rules as JSON files and on clicking a link it fetches the corresponding JSON file asynchronously.
There are also variety of pluggins availabe in jquery you can use for your benefut like calendar,animation etc.
Now this is the code i use to perform the JSON operations.
$(‘ul>li>ul>li>a’).click(function(){
var name=$(this).text();
var filename=’json/’+ name + ‘.json’;
//var filename=’json/SubtleKnife.json’;
//alert(filename);
$(‘#midbox’).empty();

$.getJSON(filename,function(data){

$.each(data,function(entryIndex,entry){

var html=’add the html stuff here with JSON data say event['name']‘

$(‘#midbox’).append(html);
});
});
});

Jquery is truly amazing to say the least for web designers it adds so much meaning to web design.Those of who like me hating javascript can try jquery to achieve nifty stuff.There are loads of pluggin associated with jquery which are truly amazing.Many javascript libraries are cryptic in nature but jquery gives user enormous power.If you are part of some web designing project and dont use Jquery you are missing something truly amazing and interesting. :-)
