The Reservation issue and the judicial overreach!

Reservation is back to the fore after the recent supreme court judgement about 27% reservation for OBC’s in institutions of higher education such as IIT’s and IIM’s.Ask any upper class Indian this question “why India is not able to develope or what you dont like with India?” the instance reply you get is “Reservation and politics”.I have seen many friends of mine(especially from the upper caste) expressing this opinion.Wow what nationalism the saviours of merit its so inspiring that the young energetic are so patriotic about the nation.Every issue should be discussed and researched upon before making comments if we dont know about something it is better to keep the mouth shut.Is reservation is the one issue affecting this nation?What s the history of the reservation history?Let us analyse with some reason and logic rather being childish.Before independence the bhramins who were so limited in numbers in tamil nadu hold up more than seventy five percent of all large and important administrative posts.This was due to the historical advantage that the bhramins had in accessing education.In a composite society people belong to all communities should be represented in all major areas otherwise there is no meaning of development.The representation of OBC ’s among the higher education institutions is abysymally low and the government at the centre has a responsibility to provide oppurtunities to all.why are the saviours of the nation the upper class people voice concerns on issue such as Indo Us Nuclear Deal?It so short sighted without proper understanding of issues inspired by this semi standard journals such as “India Today” and far right ones such as “Week” propagating emotional rubbish articles projecting those protesting against reservation as heros of the nation.OBC reservation has been in practice in tamil nadu for years now it has no way affected merit in any way.

The judiciary has made a mockery of the democratic system and its recent judgements has been strongly advocating neo liberal principles favouring middle class sentiments.

It has made itself nude by challenging the principles defined by its own previous judgements.Now there is a disgrace feeling towards Indian polity and the political leaders and that is due to the poor standard of political leaders accepted but political leaders and the executive and legislature are accounatble to people of this nation.On the other hand the judges are controlled only by their self constrained and conscious.Once an US president commented on a judgement of a judge as “The honourable justice has made a judgement and now let him go and implement it”.The Indian executive or legislature has not made such announcements but think of a situation.The judiciary’s accounatbility remains in the hands of the executive in the effective implementation of the judgements.There is a clear cut separation of domains and each should respect the working of the other or else Indian Democracy is going to loose.

A tragic loss

My cousin sister Preethi aged two passed away of menigitis.It has been a loss of untold proportion.Shell shocked by this the family is recovering from it.She was the daughter of Banu my aunt who is more like a friend to me.It s so painfull as she was so shrewd,intelligent and loving.It was not a continous issue a sudden one that has rattled the boat.Words cant explain the pain.”Miss you my dear”.Life is unfair but three words thats always true with life is “It moves on”.

Placement Placement every where!

This post is just a culmination of my thought process seeing some recent devlopments in engineering scenario in tamil nadu.Many of the private college peers of mine have placed in campus placement in  various companies not even sixth semester completed.These were students who scored less marks in their school level.They have proved life exists after twelfth and secured their lives.Congrats dudes.

But lets study the other side of the coin more dangerous one.The whole placement game is used to play an amazing admission buisness come this year private colleges would show report cards as justification for capitation fees.

Education,knowledge has taken a backburner now already the level of education in engineering education is in apathy.I can point out students with such level of apathy that they would get placed.

Colleges were selected based primarily on placements now that every college is one and the same.Some may put forth an argument that “Dad what if i study basic science or not–> I may get placed in “XXXX”".Society requires doctors,teachers,engineers if tomorrow by any chance prostitution becomes profitable probably we would have everyone turning toward that cool .

This is the classic case of gory capitalism playing with social benefits an engineer requires basic understanding on certain technologies now a days will it get me placed argument is ruining youth.

An education institution has a responsibility to develop the individual to a complete one.Rather than developing commodities tailored made for specific companies the institutions must develop creativity.Parents too have responsibilty in monitoring student all round development.

Manufactured Dissent and a clever ploy?

This is management technique i learnt in recent times.Probably it has been out quite sometime now and the clinical way in which the ploy has been implemented is amazing.To capture leadership in a hierarchy create a feeling among your peers on one side that the entire system sucks and on the other side impress the needy.I remember one Nagulan kavithai at this juncture “Aal Ketra Abinayamum Velai Ketra Veshamum than Vazhkai Yendral Saavathe Saala Sirappu”.There were people who were complaining that “life is boring”,”There s no respect I am not treated even like a human being”.Ow Ow please hold on probably its sick and cynical when i think about it now.IF people say “Theres no other go to live”  i am a kid if a trust that probably grown up buddy.I remember the coincidence to Animal Farm the entire issue its all the mind game.

I believe this post may not live out for many days probably let people  live.One thing any work should have the work as the inspiration.After all the days in which certificates,BOS rule the roost you always people counting their fingers.One of my friend said one day ” Hurrah the certificate count for this year is 5″.Life is lived in moments and experience and not in paper material.
